Powercut emerged in September 2024 with a strong/provocative phrase of #powercuttakeover. With vivid, timeless artwork, promised a grand launch event headlined by Trezzor (@TrezzorForever). A pioneer figure of events that were the foundation of the UK scene. Powercut was everywhere, thousands of quality print, featuring powercut in-house artwork embellished the Surrey Campuses and surrounding areas. Strongly interconnected to digital campaign introducing Surrey to their new guest DJ’s. Surrey had never seen a rollout like this before. Surrey ACS, led by elected President Angel, was a powerhouse in promotion, acting as the main promotional partner. Powercut provided a revolution in experience for the 24/25 intake, at a new phase of life, after joining university. DJ Rodlin-Chez, (afrobeats specialist), made a fantastic debut on the launch event sandwiched between Trezzor’s open and closing set. On the Thursday night of the 26th of September, new life came to campus, a cross campus queue formed, spanning from the venue Rubix, all the way to the lecture theatre. To the surprise of many, the event sold out, not only lapping expectations, but reshaping the entire nightlife industry in Surrey for months to come. Once inside Rubix, the dancefloor was completely packed out until close, rife with energy, dancing, and singing the entire time. At close, the dancefloor was completely packed, students refused to leave. A testament to the quality of Trezzor on his debut headline, and his synergy with a crowd amassing 1550 people.’
